SPANTIK BASE CAMP TREK
Spantik is known as Golden Peak for its golden wall. Also, it is the most attainable 7000m peak in the Karakoram. Because Spantik Peak base camp trek is a beautiful trek and summit option for mountain dwellers endeavoring their initial 7,000-meter top in the Karakoram. Thus, it is called the golden peak. We undertake a 12-day difficult round trip in the core of Karakoram, moving toward the base camp of this lovely peak on the fourth day of our trek. But, not many adventurers visit this piece of Karakoram. So, we have the chance to encounter the sentimental wild of Karakoram. The location of Spantik Base Camp Trek is very easy to access until Skardu from Islamabad. Then drive to Shigar and Arandu to onwards it’s trekking makes trekkers days more memorable.
MAIN HIGHLIGHTS of SPANTIK BASE CAMP TREK
The breathtaking SPANTIK BASE CAMP TREK is a wonderful trekking opportunity in an extraordinary scape of mountains. Because, the dramatic approach trek along the Chogolungma Glacier passes through various beautiful mountain surroundings far from the regular trekking routes. But, straightforward climbing leads to the mountain’s summit, where clear weather conditions result in tremendous views in all directions.
There are two prominent ridges of Spantik Base Camp Trek; South East and North West. Because, south East is a long and demanding snow ridge with few technical difficulty sections and little objective danger. So, this route was climbed on July 5, 1955, by a party led by K. Kramer. But, the North West (Golden Pillar) is a massive combination of ice and rock. The first successful summiteers on this route are British climbers Mick Fowler and Victor Saunders. Spantik is a truly Himalayan scale objective: an ideal next step for those who have previously climbed a 6000m trekking peak or for those preparing for an 8000m expedition.
Arandu village and surroundings are one of the mesmerising landscapes in Baltistan. So, Spantik Base Camp Trek will allow you to experience the local habitants and their lifestyle. These localities are cut off from central Baltistan city life. There are lack of basic human needs and facilities but they are rich in natural beauties and landscapes. But, the lush green valley of Arandu is worth to stay and explore during your trek.
